I was selected as part of the pre sale team that opened a brand new £10 million Club in Southend. Although I had no prior experience within the leisure industry I excelled in my position. As part of the preparation for my role I completed a number of professional sales courses, receiving a distinction in each. In addition to this we also received on going training and support from our Sales Manager. I exceeded my own personal target every month, which contributed to the team exceeding the monthly target set by head office.I formed strong working relationships with my colleagues within the sales team, as well as the management within other departments. This resulted in me gaining in depth knowledge of how each department work, and the challenges faced by each manager.Upon the opening of the Club in 2005 my sales skills broadened further by including the Club tour. The sales team doubled the member count from 2500 in November 2005 to 5000 by the start of June 2006.
