Duties as a Coating Inspector include, inter alia• Undertaking third party inspections for clients as requested • Undertaking coating inspections as requested from contractors • Compiling the necessary documentation for approval and release, • Marketing the services of Isinyithi in the greater Durban area during your daily interactions• Maintaining high integrity in all interactions, without fear or favour.• Ensuring that you are familiar with the appropriate Client and project specifications • Managing specific projects “on the ground” • Handling site queries from contractors as required • Attending project meetings and compiling progress reports • Preparing management summaries of project status quo for Isinyithi internal use

Promote a culture in which quality is the prime concern and will never be compromised.Implement and maintain the Company's IMS Systems.Ensure adherence to all ISO 9001 Quality Standards, company and client procedures.Advise the site management team on quality issues and suggested solutions.Ensure quality management information notice boards are in place in each area and all relevant information is displayed. Attend quality meetings with client and liaise with the client's Quality Department, and inspectors if necessary.Report all incidents immediately to the client's QA department as per project requirements. Take corrective action on deviations submitted by the client and close down. Ensure all work meets contract specifications and standard of excellence for the contract.To have the authority to stop work for cause, reject work, order work removed, initiate remedial work, propose solutions, and reject material not in accordance with the contract. Be completely familiar with the contract scope of work, drawings and specifications.Inspect existing conditions prior to the start of new work segments.Perform in-process and follow-up inspections on each of the work segment to ensure compliance with the contract upon request, accompany Client and/or managing Contractor on such inspections.Coordinate required test, inspections, and demonstrations with Client or any other authority having jurisdiction.Inspect materials and equipment to ensure conformance to the requirements of the contract, prepare and submit documentation as required by the contract. Identify, report and reject defective work not in conformance with the contract.Monitor the repair or reconstruction of rejected work and document corrective action. Schedule and accompany Client and/or managing contractor on any site visits where required.Work closely with managing contractor to ensure optimum quality control. Attend meetings as required by managing contractor.

To comply with ISO 9001:2008 Management System.Surveillance and Pre Client Inspection for all Blasting, Painting and Insulation activities as per the respective site Coating and Insulation specifications.Inspection of lagging and cladding activities as per the manufacturing specifications.Compiling and reviewing data books.Carry out Punch Walk Downs with clients Inspectors.Compiling Data Dossiers on completed work and hand overs to clients.Applying relevant standards and specifications related to corrosion protection for the project.Attend clients’ weekly Quality meetings.Act as a Quality Assurance liaison between the client, project partners and regulatory agencies for the resolution of Quality related issues.Presenting all completed work to the respective clients.

Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards, company, and client procedures in the field of coatings related aspects such as surface cleanliness, surface preparation, industrial painting and cold Insulation. Inspection of coatings and surface preparation aspects, including taking of specified measurements or tests as required by the specification.Ensuring optimal conditions are set for coating activities as per coating manufacturer data sheet. Environmental checks such as ambient air temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and surface temperature.WFT, DFT and visual inspections.Overseeing work done in accordance to data packs within the allocated timeframe.Completion of daily reports, inspections, as well as job acceptance forms for the client. Drafting and Signing off of QCP’s.Review of data books for painting consumables and material certificates.General office administration, data capturing, updating data packs and generating data books on a daily basis.
