Mr. Smith joined Pathway in 2011 and is a managing director in the Rhode Island office. He is involved in all aspects of Pathway’s investment and client servicing activities. Mr. Smith is co-head of Pathway’s private credit team, which invests across the private credit markets through partnership investments, co-investments, and direct credit investments. Mr. Smith is a member of various Pathway committees, including the firm’s Management Committee, Direct Credit Investment Committee, and Primary Fund Investment Committee. Mr. Smith serves on the advisory boards of several private market partnerships.

Monitored a portfolio of over 200 limited partnerships. Served as an advisory board member for several domestic and international private equity partnerships. Managed capital for and marketed to local retirement boards in Massachusetts through the pension plan’s segmentation program. Participated as a speaker at private equity industry conferences..

Performed due diligence on prospective venture capital and buyout limited partnerships investing in the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. Monitored a portfolio of over 35 limited partnerships in a $700 million private equity portfolio. Wrote semi-annual reports, which updated the progress of each limited partnership and its underlying portfolio companies.
