WAYNE THOMAS, Ph.D. teaches financial accounting, intermediate accounting, and graduate financial accounting. He co-authors: (1) Financial Accounting with David Spiceland and Don Herrmann (McGraw-Hill), (2) Intermediate Accounting with David Spiceland, Mark Nelson, and Jen Winchel (McGraw-Hill), and (3) Financial Accounting for Managers with Mike Drake, Jake Thornock, and David Spiceland (McGraw-Hill).His research specializes in capital markets, techniques used by managers to manipulate earnings, the importance of financial disclosures, and financial statement analysis. In 2019, he received the University of Oklahoma’s top research designation, being named a George Lynn Cross Research Professor.He has published more than 70 articles in leading academic journals, such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting & Economics, and Contemporary Accounting Research. He also served as an editor for The Accounting Review and has presented at more than 100 universities and conferences.
