Carry out all aspects of blasting/ painting/ spraying operations.Wet blasting to SA2 1/2 standard, and spot & sweep.Stripe coating and spray painting, using international paint products.

Talisman Claymore Platform

Working on Talisman's Claymore platform, North Sea.Removing old Mandolite fire protection, with air chissels.Blasting & Painting of main structural H beams on the underside of decks.Blasting to SA2 1/2 Standard.Assisting fireproofers applying Chartek 7 fire protection.

Golden Eagle Platform.

Working on Nexen's Golden Eagle platform hook up.My duties included carrying out all aspects of blasting & painting operations.

Hummingbird Spirit Fpso, Chestnut Oil Field, North Sea.

Working for Pyeroy through Copius NI agency on the Hummingbird Spirit FPSO.Duties including, blasting & recoating of all priority areas of deck which had suffered heavy corrosion.Conducting pressure washing operations to remove all salt from designated work areas.Removal of all heavy scale using chipping hammers & needle guns.Blasting all decks & welds using Clemco vaccum blast units & Pinovo vacuum blast units.Stripe coating and painting all blasted areas until the required thickness was achieved, prior to application of top coat.Masking off all areas where necessary before application of top coat.Other duties included running & maintenance of both blast units and Spray pump units.Daily checks and up keep of Coates compressors.Reading & understanding all requirements of work permits.Good house keeping in and around the worksite and making sure all barriers & signs were present and correct at all times.

Total'S Elgin Franklin Platform, North Sea.

Working on Total's Elgin Franklin Platform as a Level 1 rope access blaster/ painter.Carrying out various aspects of rope access operations, such as mechanical & blasting preparation of steel work & the removal of an obsolete transmitter unit from the outer side of the helideck.Deck painting duties including, blasting & mechanical preparation of steel work, brush painting high build undercoats and topcoats.Other duties included, running and maintenance of Clemco blast units and labourous duties of blasting operations.Reading and understanding all work permits & making sure all signs and barriers were present and correct at all times.

Shiremoor, North Shields, England.

Working in a large accident repair centre. The body shop is approved by Fored and has contracts with insurance companies such as, Direct Line & Royal Sun Alliance.My duties included, preparing & masking repaired cars for the spray booth, then refinishing them to a high standard.Blasting and repairing steel & alloy wheels, then refinshing them as required.I also under went futher training while working here and I am now a registered ATA paint technician.

My role working in this independent body shopwas as a prepper/ spray painter, working on contracts for Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Toyota & Lexus. I worked on a rotation schedule both preparing and spraying new vehicles.I was selected to be a link man in a team of 15 Dutch & British workers and was given additional duties which included, inducting & mentoring new starters, prioritising & allocating daily tasks & ensuring the smooth running of the workplace.

Working in a team of 30 people, preparing, masking and refinishing high quality cars including, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche.I worked on a rotation basis with 3 other spray painters, spending 1 week in the spray booth and 3 weeks preparing and masking vehicles for spraying, using PPG & Spieshecker paint products.I also gained excellent communication skills and learned how to be efficient & productive within a large work scope & team.
