I collaborate closely with owners, translating their vision and production needs into an efficient and elegant design. Prior to practicing architecture, I spent a decade working for a Willamette Valley winery and started my own commercial hard cidery. My experience in all aspects of the industry, from production to marketing, enables me to serve as a well-versed liaison between wine and architecture.

Project manager of a fast-track $2,600,000 remedial repair project in Squaw Valley, California and a $350,000 residential repair in San Francisco, California including permitting, organization of billing processes and documentation, advertising for and conducting bidding, negotiation and issuance of subcontracts, overseeing product submittals and project scheduling. During construction, responsibilities included communications between the Owner's representative, in-house personnel and site staff, preparation of RFI's, project budgeting and development of close-out documents.

Owner and operator of an artisan hard-cider production company. Handled day-to-day management including product development and marketing of locally distributed organic hard ciders.

San Francisco Bay Area

Project manager and liaison for $79 million bond-funded modernization of 5 public high school campuses. Projects included new classroom buildings, swimming pools and athletic facilities, and ADA path-of-travel improvements. Each campus provided instruction during construction which required careful scheduling, and information distribution. Coordination between the 3 design teams, multiple contractors, and Department of State Architect was imperative for successful project completion.

Portland, Oregon Area

Assisted on contract document development for $10 million wine production facility in Sebastopol, California. Developed contract documents on $4 million wine production facility in New Zealand. Assisted on contract administration of $3 million facility in Dallas, Oregon.

Mcminnville, Oregon

Managed organization and distribution of wines for premium consumer event showcasing 60 wineries for 700 attendees. Elected to board of directors focusing on event management, program development, budgeting, and event marketing; served from September 2003 to October 2006.

One year managing $5 million luxury condominium tenant improvement project in Los Angeles, California. Project team consisted of Architect of Record, general contractor, tenant improvement contractor, interior design firm, HOA, and our architecture firm acting as owner’s representative.

Bethel Heights Vineyard firmly believes the old adage that great wine is made in the vineyard. Once the fruit is harvested our winemaking emphasizes gentle handling and minimum intervention through all phases of processing. Grapes from each section of the vineyard are vinified and aged in separate lots until they are bottled, so that we can learn as much as possible about their individual differences and qualities, and how they develop over time.The heart of Bethel Heights Vineyard is Pinot noir. Three-fourths of the original estate vineyard, thirty-seven acres, is planted to Pinot noir. The new Justice Vineyard, planted in 1999, brought another thirteen acres of Pinot noir into the estate blend starting in 2003. The oldest vines, planted in 1977 and 1979, are Pommard and Wädenswil clones. More recent plantings include Dijon clones 114, 115, 667 and 777. BETHEL HEIGHTS ESTATE GROWN PINOT NOIR blends fruit from all the different sections of the estate vineyards, creating our signature wine.
