As Operations Manager reporting to the Toowong Depot Manager, my role had me to manage over 350 bus operators, maintenance staff and admin staff, achieving demand and dispatch services of 149 vehicles in the AM peak period and 147 services in the PM peak periods, whilst utilising my high level of analytical skills and problem solving techniques, overseeing the movements of 2500 services on a daily basis in the western suburbs of Brisbane to the CBD. I deal with on road issues, time management of run prints, performance management of staff, from complaints from the public, budgets (this involves working within budgetary constraints as well as setting budgets for approval from Senior Management); Human Resource issues; Industrial Relations issues and Union delegates; make strategic decisions to maximise customer service to the travelling public and grow within the Brisbane Transport Network for Brisbane City Council.

I started working with no supervision at Gilbarco, I completed tasks in less than the allocated time frame and demonstrated a lot of self-confidence with projects. Realizing my potential in the company, in December 2005 I was promoted to Project Manager for an installation phase of Automatic Tank Gauging covering: preparation of budgets, organisation of sub-contractors, procurement and OHS requirements for each site included in the project. Other tasks included managing time constraints and organising personnel to complete multiple sites at the same time, the project, as guided and managed by myself was completed with minimal input from Senior Management. In March 2006 I accepted a further promotion to my current position of Country Service Manager. This position requires the coordination of 17 Service Fitters, to complete maintenance and other tasks at service stations throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory. Whilst in this position I have further developed my time management skills, as the Company has contractual obligations in relation to meeting response times and budgets for the tasks required to be completed at service stations. Whilst in this position I have improved response times by over 15% and productivity by over 20%. I have demonstrated my commitment to workplace health and safety by reviewing policies and researching better practices for the fitters to comply with. I have found my communication skills to be critical in achieving results in this position, as I have had to interact with customers and suppliers to ensure safety, strategies and delivery of projects within specified timeframes and budgets.By being a team player and utilising my easy going nature, I have had no trouble in getting staff to complete the tasks that I have set for them. I find that my discipline and dedication to the job is my best attribute.

Being a Product Support Specialist within the Support Services business unit of Raytheon Australia, I furthered my experience in supply chain management, obsolescence management and contract negotiations, and was also involved in writing technical manuals for the Australian Defence Force. Writing the safety, environment and technical side of the program involving the ASLAV. I was responsible for obsolescence management, including ensuring the inventory management systems were maintained and parts readily available. I was responsible for Repair Item Management induction of components to international companies for their repair and subsequent return to Australia and to the client. Liaising with international suppliers, freight, customs and repair facilities on a daily basis, I gained experienced in monitoring supplier’s performance against contractual obligations as well as negotiating with clients and suppliers over current and/or potential contracts.I was also responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports for the Support Services business unit, as well as management reports regarding the status of contracts, including new customer contracts won during the month and tenders submitted during the month. I was required at times to be available for Maintenance to the ATC for repair and maintenance of the Defence Force Radars. Including base level repair, monitoring and assisting with data entry on errors and corrective action requests.

I commenced my career with the Australian Army at the Army College of Tafe, where I completed my schooling. I went on to achieve a Fitter and Turner apprenticeship specialising in weapons. After completing my apprenticeship I moved to the Defence National Storage and Distribution Centre (DNSDC) in Sydney, gaining experience in training other employees in weapon handling. During this time I commenced my career in purchasing and supply chain management.After two years at DNSDC I relocated to the Australian Army barracks at Townsville, QLD, where I was able to follow my interest in aircraft by joining the 5th Aviation Regiment as a Weapons Specialist for the UH-1H Iroquois, CH-47D Chinook, and the Black Hawk helicopters. Main duties included maintenance and installation of systems on aircraft as well as supply chain management, performance reviewing, polices and procedure measurement for the Iroquois fleet.
