Wayne Watkins serves in advisory and executive roles. He is the Executive Director of the Walter Scott Jr. Scholarship Program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, former President Frontier Scientific Inc. and the former Chief Executive Officer of Honeyville Inc. He served as Vice President University of Akron Research Foundation and as Associate Vice President for Research and Adjunct Professor of Law at The University of Akron where he directed programs in intellectual property management, emerging enterprise support, economic development and regional innovation and entrepreneurship capacity development. Mr. Watkins served as President of the University Economic Development Association, a national organization supporting universities in economic development and innovation. Mr. Watkins taught courses in Intellectual Property Management, Innovation, Business Policy, and Global Business. He represented the World Intellectual Property Organization at international conferences on intellectual property, innovation and technology commercialization. He provided congressional testimony on university technology commercialization. He was a contributor to the U.S. Council on Competitiveness 2005 National Innovation Initiative. Mr. Watkins is the former Director of the Utah State University Research and Technology Park and Office of Technology Commercialization. He was vice president and corporate counsel of the Hanover Companies, a diversified business holding company.
