I have built on my passion for sharing my own experiences and knowledge by taking up the position of Academic Tutor with the UWA Business School, tutoring final year finance and economics. Working as a mentor has expanded my organisation, time management, leadership, and communication skills.

Currently halfway through a year-long research project in the engineering design of a handheld probe to be used during breast conservation surgery, which would provide real-time feedback to significantly improve outcomes for cancer patients. My current focus is on developing a novel form of medical imaging, inspired by the mechanism of tactile feedback in the human finger.

Completed a second summer in the Vacation Program, this time working in the multidisciplinary Wheatstone Downstream Systems Engineering (Utilities) Team, again delivering engineering design changes to increase plant availability and utilisation, and reduce costs where possible.• Designed a power distribution solution to an asset-wide single mode of failure to improve mechanical reliability of the plant, and the realised LNG price. Low cost, high impact solution leveraged existing equipment and emerging technology to benefit long term production and bottom line.• Identified, indexed, and generated equipment tags for (98) accessible earth testing wells attached to (33) buildings across (40) grounding drawings, supporting essential work to meet electrical safety compliance standards.• Completed a flowmeter design verification, using instrument datasheets and process information to calculate the turndown ratio of (12) meters, proving the integrity of high impact instrumentation, enabling optimal gas purge for flare tip availability and supporting work to meet hydrocarbon accounting obligations. • Generated dashboards to track historical radar level transmitter readings on the condensate tanks and used the data to calculate the correct offset parameter to improve instrument accuracy. Worked with site maintenance technicians to implement the work scope, in order to reduce manual measurement costs, and provide the accurate data required for cost effective condensate shipments.

Worked with Wheatstone Downstream Operations as part of the Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical team, delivering engineering design changes to increase plant availability and utilisation, and reduce costs where possible.• Supported the 3rd Party Package Integration Project, managing Yokogawa’s creation of graphics, work packs, and interface lists for (21) vendor packages, improving alarm management and the operability of critical system HMIs.• Conducted factory acceptance testing, raised automation change requests for each package, and drove the project to completion by supporting the site implementation of changes to the DCS and vendor PLCs.• Completed a sample probe design verification, using PID diagrams, drawings, and datasheets to calculate the maximum acceptable insertion length of (74) instrument probes. Identified (13) probes which required modification to avoid catastrophic instrument failure due to vortex shedding.• Reviewed engineering procedures to identify periodic audit tasks for I&C Facility Engineering to improve the ability of the site automation team to maintain operational excellence across process automation systems. Included (32) periodic audits in a planning tool, alongside review frequencies, assigned roles, and procedural requirements.• Used SQL queries and Microsoft Access to develop a new tool to interpret failure data from emergency shutdown equipment and wrote a detailed operational guideline in using the database to monitor systematic problems with instruments or testing frequencies.
