CurrentThe role is responsible for the ICT systems that support the recruitment, collection, processing, testing, and distribution of blood and plasma, human milk and faecal microbiota. The role is also responsible for the information systems that support laboratory testing in red cell reference, blood manufacturing and transplantation and immunogenetics, and management of the national system for organ allocation for transplantation.This role offers strategic advice to the CIO and ICT leadership team, in the delivery of the large and complex initiatives projects within Lifeblood, and also on business strategy, technology and engagement. It also involves advising on the ICT operational and planning activities of the Office of the CIO. The role also acts as Business Engagement Manager for both the Manufacturing and Logistics, Donor Experience and Engagement and Pathology and Clinical Governance Business Units, and delivery of the ICT component of initiatives in these areas.

This role offers strategic advice to the CIO and ICT leadership team, in the delivery of the large and complex initiatives projects within the Blood Service, and also on business strategy, technology and engagement. The role also encompasses management of relationships with key external service providers, specifically in the pharmaceutical, medical and manufacturing space, and where required with relevant government and regulatory agencies.The role also represents the Blood Service on international standards organisations, professional bodies, steering committees and other forums. The role is a key advisor to the business on current trends in and the innovation and adoption of information management regarding manufacturing of blood, blood products, tissues and organs, and associated clinical, laboratory and ancillary services. The role works closely with the CIO on developing an Information Communications Technology (ICT) system strategy, formulating policies and standards, and leading technology business investment. This role requires deep analytical skills in both information management and process to understand how IS can drive productivity and business value.
