Hands on technology leader responsible for the municipal bond insurance firm’s information architecture and engineering. This includes the data architecture as well as the design, delivery and implementation of the core credit, surveillance, analytic and reporting systems and the interfaces to external parties.Modeled and implemented applications and associated class libraries and Postgres relational databases to support in house functions including credit, market data and analytics. Using the Ruby on Rails framework, developed REST interfaces to communicate among applications and databases as well as user interfaces to review and drill down on the results of our analytic processes.Managed the engineering effort with an agile development process that focuses on behavior and test driven development, tight feedback loops with limited sprint durations, continuous integration to improve quality control and retrospectives as well as code reviews to improve the process and code base. The physical implementation of the architecture is entirely cloud bases as are the tools that help manage the development process.

Led the team that designed, built and deployed Transparent Metrics, a cloud-based service that allows companies to easily gather, consolidate and report financial and operating data across multiple entities. The system uses the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) as well as custom taxonomies.Hands on in designing and building a message based processing engine that extracts content from spreadsheets submitted via email and posts to a reporting database after validation.
