Assist in the installation and maintanence of employee computer systems and company servers. Evaluate and maintain inventory to assure efficient operation of the Electronics Lab and assist employees and visitors with their needs.

General Dynamics bought out Motorola and took over the Secure Products Division. When the contract was pulled back into General Dynamics, I transferred over to the company and worked in the Depot repairing the same encryption equipment listed in the Motorola section below. Additionally, I also repaired the SGSM (Secure GSM) module, SWT (Secure Wireline Terminal), INE (Inline Network Encryptor), IFF (Information Friend or Foe), Multibook laptop and desktop computer encryption and the Viper VOIP (Voice Over IP) product lines. As cutbacks occurred where loss of personnel were realized, I took over the engineering duties associated with maintaining the Production lines while still preserving quality and cycle time in my normal Depot functions. I was also recruited to help out other areas repairing the Rifleman and Manpack radio systems. I held a Secret security clearance.

I began with the repair of disk drives and then moved into the repair and installation/optimization of Intrac systems. This involved bench repair as well as travel to customer sites. In 1988, I joined the new SECTEL group when it was first established. I designed repair and flow procedures necessary for Depot repair circumstances by working with Engineering, Marketing, and Production personnel. I worked with the STUIII (Secure Telephone Unit, third generation) product line, NES (Network Encryption System) line, and the Traxar Global Positioning System. I performed integrations of secure CipherLinks into customer’s T1 digital phone systems. These installations involved overseas travel as well as locations across the U.S. I also worked with the Saber radio with the Indictor secure module integration. I worked with the Iridium satellite phones and the ISM (Iridium Security Module). In this capacity, I supervised up to 12 employees. As personnel were lost due to downsizing, I was able to maintain Depot functions with a mixture of improvements in lab layout and repair procedures. I held a Secret security clearance.

I was responsible for the repair of all boards used in the Western Dynex disk drives. I performed repair of the boards and supervised the other board-repair technicians. I also performed the final acceptance testing of the completed product.

I repaired televisions and stereos on the bench and in the field. I also performed antenna installations and sold service contracts.
