Responsible for the safe reliable running and overseeing of the Jemalong CSP (Concentrated Solar Thermal) generation plant and ensuring all systems are set up optimally to achieve maximum generation. Maintain and modify operating instructions, permit procedures, management of change documentation and competency based training.Operate, monitor and maintain a 1MWe turbo/generator, heliostat mirror array and ancillary equipment to provide power from a reliable renewable source into the NEM (National Electricity Market). Manage small projects and personnel. Train and mentor trainee operators. Prepare, isolate and issue permits on plant and equipment utilizing LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures. Development of operation and safe work procedures and instructions.

Unloading of motor vehicles off RORO (Roll on Roll off) or PCC (Pure Car Carrier) vessels.Lashing and unlashing of motor vehicles on vessels. Observing all hazards of moving vehicles in a restricted space within the ships hull.Lashing of buses, trucks and earth moving equipment.

● Operate and monitor 220MW Turbo/Generator, Boiler and ancillary equipment to provide reliable, stable, base-load electricity to the National Electricity Market.● Manual Operation of the Automated Bunker System as required.● Direct supervision of operators and contractors.● Prepare, isolate and issue permits on items of plant to make safe through the company Eclipse permit system.● Defect faulty items of plant through the company CMMS Maximo reporting system.● HV switching and earthing. ● Interpret plant manuals and drawings in the process of operating and maintaining plant. ● Operate plant as requested by different groups for testing, fault finding and commissioning● Train and mentor trainee operators.

Performing the duties of the Senior Technical Officer such as -:● Organising, prioritising and coordinating work.● Ordering equipment and supplies based on technical information, drawings and engineering data.● Direct and effective supervision of workgroups.● Structured training for trainee Technical Officers with Central Gippsland Tafe● Maintenance of the Power Station Auto Bunkering system● Installation, Management and Maintenance of the Power Station and Mine Citect SCADA system.● Installation and Maintenance of variable AC and DC drives● Installation, Management and Maintenance of the Mine dredger radio ethernet system and associated equipment.● Routine protection maintenance and breakdown maintenance of Mine plant including conveyors, pumps and dredgers● Operation of screen based equipment to receive plant routines, distribute jobs and procure spare parts as required.● Fault finding on various PLC’s including Rockwell, Modicon, Schneider, Siemens (software and hardware) as used in the Power Station and Mine.● PC upgrades and repairs.●24 hour coverage for plant breakdowns.Commissioning of new plant including -:➢ PLC controlled conveyors➢ Pumping Stations➢ Hazelwood Slot Bunker shuttle auto control upgrades.➢ Ultrasonic Level Sensor.➢ Dredger Belt Weighers.➢ Various dredger control systems.➢ Automated artesian dewatering and dirty water control systems.➢ New radio emergency stop system on the face conveyors➢ Radio ethernet bridge setup on the Dredgers for the monitoring of real time data.
