I began my career in the world of media – including roles as group design director of Haymarket Business Media (part of the UK’s largest privately owned media company); art director of the Observer’s (Guardian News & Media) colour supplement, What Car?, Royal Society of Arts Journal; and have produced designs and strategies for numerous brands across the media spectrum. I now bring this experience – across a diverse range of sectors and brands – to a broad range of projects, that reaches far beyond media, in both digital and print channels; and encompassing design and creative direction, design management, creative and brand strategy. I am passionate about developing an understanding of the cultural and aesthetic values of my clients and their customers; and developing creative solutions and strategies that connect and communicate effectively – building both conversations and business. Whilst my management approach takes a broader, more emotional outlook that empowers and develops individuals, and builds strong and confident multi-layered teams, where creativity is embraced, and practiced by all.My work has been recognised by: D&AD, Type Directors Club, Art Directors Club, Society of Publication Designers, Society of News Design, British Book Design and Production Awards, and the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA); and been featured in numerous books, periodicals and exhibitions around the world.I’m an awarded member of D&AD.
