Responsible for a team of 24 individuals accountable for daily management of 5 different warehouses across the site covering Engineering, Raw Materials, work in progress and despatch, with an Inventory value in excess of £10m• Prioritising order requirements from the MRP system for indirect and direct materials, working closely with buyers and warehouse operatives to ensure prompt internal order fulfilment• Managing regular stock audits to identify any potential issues or shortages that may impact stock levels• Reviewing staffing levels and allocated tasks on a shift to shift basics and arranged cover for any shortfalls to mitigate any operational risk• Inspecting all storage areas on a weekly basis to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and standard operating procedures. Addressed non-compliance by implementing new processes and working practices• Streamlining deliveries of raw materials across all areas to improve efficiency and material supply to manufacturing operations. Conducted audits of all goods received to ensure compliance with corporate quality standards• Perform and manage perpetual and annual physical stock counts, investigate any discrepancies. Organise training with in the mixing department, this would be for new employees or to multi-skill other operators with in the mixing department. Organise manual handling training for new employees and refresher training for existing employees. Lean training for employees. Forklift truck training and testing employees. Updating training manuals, also writing standard operating procedures.
