Wayne Kitching has over 20 years electrical engineering experience and specialises in network planning and grid integration of embedded generators. He is a proficient user of the DIgSILENT PowerFactory network analysis software package, and has extensive experience in the grid integration of wind farms, PV facilities, CSP facilities, other embedded generators and large point loads. Recently, he performed system studies for the integration of renewable energy generators into the South African distribution and transmission network, providing him with extensive knowledge of the Eskom network and expansion plans. His regional experience includes preliminary studies for the integration of wind generation into the Lesotho network, and the integration of mining loads into the Mozambican transmission network.Other work of interest includes the design of a prefabricated substation.In addition, he has successfully managed a number of overhead fibre-optic, as well as substation refurbishment designs.Wayne's Low Voltage (LV) experience includes providing input into the Planning Stream of a LV asset management project, technical assistance with township and rural electrification projects as well as providing Electrical Engineering support for pilot mineral processing plantsWayne’s earlier experience include distribution network planning, LV residential network designs and demand-side management (DSM).
