My initial work experience came in a simple enough manner - delivering daily newspapers on my bicycle in a small town in New Jersey. At 16, I went to work at the local McDonald's while I finished high school and studied accounting in college. McD's provide me a lot of valuable experience including managing people, providing customer service and a variety of business operational skills. After college, I began my public accounting career at Seidman & Seidman (which since changed to BDO Seidman and is now known as BDO USA). In November 1995, I joined Haskell & White LLP, a regional CPA firm in Orange County, California. In July 2004, I became the Managing Partner of the Firm and continue to serve in that capacity as well as serving as an audit partner for public, private and non-profit entities. Besides being an auditor, I have honed my skills as a business advisor helping my clients improve their operational and financial results; and preparing them for future business and personal succession.I serve on the boards for several not-for-profit entities including Laura's House, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast and the Orange County Sheriff's Advisory Council and its related entity, Drug Use is Life Abuse. I have also been teaching auditing to undergraduates part-time at California State University, Fullerton since 2002 and serve on a number of boards at CSUF including the Center For Corporate Governance & Reporting, the Executive Council, and the Department of Accounting Advisory Board.Specialties: Audit and business consulting for small to large organizations both privately and publicly-held. Industries: manufacturing, distribution, retail, real estate, and technology (from software to peripherals to medical devices to bio-tech). My favorite service areas today are in SEC reporting, M&A, and general business consulting to assist with growth & profit enhancement, as well as transnational matters.
