Excited to be hired on as a Full Time Professor for the School of Technology in the Industrial Automation Program.

Initially contracted to Develop and now Teaching Industrial Robotics and Project Management part-time as part the new Graduate Industrial Automation curriculum. Robot course includes Theory, Kinematics, Controls and Safety Systems as well as a Hands-on Lab with ABB Robots and also working with ABB Robot Studio Software (ELNC9104, ELNC9204). Project Management course will focus on Project Planning as applied to an Industrial Controls Projects including Risk Analysis, Requirement Elicitation, Quality Attribute Workshops as well as Hand-on Computer Lab exercises using Microsoft Project (ELNC9108). The second course in the series explores how to plan and adapt project and customer requirements to a simulated factory using Factory IO Software and Rockwell PLC's. (ELNC9208).

Senior Electrical Controls Engineer for the GF6 Transmission area including Gear and Case Machining as well as Assembly. Managing three Controls Engineering Teams as well as off-shift support personnel. Job responsibilities also includes technical support and guidance.

Senior Electrical Controls Engineer on the GenV Engine Program, St. Catharines including a 5 month term spent at the Tonawanda Engine Plant providing Technical Assistance. Responsible for bringing in, installing and commissioning the new V8 Engine and Head Assembly equipment. Job included travel to the machine builder in Japan for final inspecting, runoff and safety validation before shipping.

On Assignment in Thailand as the Controls Engineering Manager for the New Duramax Diesel Engine Plant. I implemented the Duramax program with emphasis on Electrical and other Electronic Control Systems. This was accomplished while meeting project and controls specifications, timing and cost targets. Steered the plant toward self-sufficiency through the proper leadership and training of our Thai Engineering Staff and integration with other departments (such as maintenance, quality and IS&S group, for example). Travel to Germany and Korea.

Assigned as a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer on the High Feature V6 Engine Program. Responsible for assessing and installing new CNC Machining Equipment including detailed review of the Safety Systems. Recognized Skills in Task Based Risk Assessment (TaBRA) and Pre-start Health and Safety Reviews (PSR). Travel to Japan and France.

Assigned to the Gen III Engine program at the GM Glendale Facility. Responsible for bringing in and installing Head Machining and Assembly equipment. Skilled in GMPT ‘Flow Chart’ based programming language. Earned promotion to Senior Engineer June 1999. Travel to Germany and Italy.

Transferred to the New and Major Projects Group at the GM Welland Avenue facility. Machine Tools producing Gen III Waterpump, Gen 1e and RPM 5L piston (both Ground and Machined). Installed new NC machines and various assembly equipment.

Solely responsible for all aspects of Plant Electrical Engineering at the Welland Avenue Piston Casting and Machining Facility. Job included control circuit design and programming, supervision of contract jobs, electrical maintenance of production equipment and involvement with machine vendors. Experienced in the programming of Allen Bradley, Klockner Moeller (Honeywell), General Electric, Modicon and Siemens programmable controllers, trouble shooting of induction melting equipment, electrical drafting, AutoCad drawing, Word Processing and PLC documentation systems. Received formal training in Siemens, GE and Micon PLC's, DC and AC drives, Siemens, GE and Seicos NC’s, fuse and relay co-ordination. Non-technical training includes WHMIS, Synchronous Manufacturing, Ergonomics, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights and Loss Control and Accident Investigation. Job also included the supervision of a temporary hire or electrician assigned to aid in plant operations. Five years of cooperative education sponsored by GM of Canada Limited. Program totals 2½ cumulative years of various coop engineering and supervision type assignments throughout the St. Catharines GM Facilities while attending GMI Engineering and Management Institute (now known as Kettering University).
