One such client retained my services after receiving an offer from a well-known private equity group. The owner assumed the due diligence process would take two weeks and the closing process another two weeks.We discussed his options, and I explained that, if not properly managed, the due diligence and closing process could be a nightmare. I immediately contacted the buyer’s team to introduce myself and discuss how they were going to handle due diligence. I determined the areas I knew would be problematic and resolved them with my client before addressing them with the buyer.
