After receiving an undergraduate and a master’s degree from the University of Arkansas, my career took me to Hallmark – that wonderful company in the heartland of America. During my 38 years there, I played a number of roles, including Vice President of Marketing & Strategy, General Manager, and President and General Manager of the Walmart and Sam’s Club division. Most recently I developed the strategy and built the teams to offer Hallmark cards through multiple Amazon platforms. I have led teams of 5,000 and 10,000 people and been responsible for a $1B P&L. I was honored to receive the J.C. Hall Lifetime Achievement award which has only been bestowed on a handful of people in the history of Hallmark. During my long career, I developed a wealth of leadership skills and insights which I compiled into a book titled Leadership Philosophy. My second book, Get Over Yourself, Decide to Lead: Insights from Hard Lessons Learned, was published in 2018.
