Sunsuper was Australia’s third largest super fund with a membership of 1.2 million Australians during my tenure. Sunsuper became one of the most recognised brands of any industry in its home state, and owned a unique, and highly successful, brand position within the superannuation industry. It has since evolved into Australian Retirement Trust.Responsibilities:• Developed & implemented marketing brand and communication plans to deliver strategic objectives• Drove advertising, media relations, sponsorship, and direct marketing programs• Brand management from positioning to corporate identity, engagement and experience • Developed and executed ATL & BTL campaigns ensuring optimal integration• Event management to engage and develop advocacy amongst employer network• Liaison and collaboration with fund administrators, mail houses, industry associations• Contributed to strategic development as member of senior management team

QSuper was the superannuation fund for past and present Queensland State Government employees. During my time with QSuper the Fund evolved from several separately branded schemes with 240,000 members and $2billion in funds, into a strong and credible single brand, with more than 420,000 members and over $14billion in funds under management. Throughout the majority of my career at QSuper I held the most senior marketing role within the organisation driving communication, brand management and member engagement strategy and implementation. QSuper has now evolved to become Australian Retirement Trust.

Suncorp is a major Australian business covering all elements of financial services. I was an inaugural employee of Suncorp as the business formed in 1986 from the corporatisation and merger of the State Government Insurance Office, the SGIO Building Society and the Permanent Finance Corporation. My roles gave me exposure to many significant experiences and opportunities from involvement in the merger of three organisations and the corporate identity development that under-pinned that, through to the establishment of a new high-profile brand, and management of several major sponsorships and events such as Suncorp’s participation in World Expo ’88.I worked in the general insurance, building society and corporate office business units and spent two years circulating throughout the business on a management development program.
