I am a process engineer with 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and the go-to person for process optimization, troubleshooting, and technical evaluation needs. Regardless of my expertise though, my options are open: anything that transforms one thing into another is fair game to a process engineer.My current work involves providing proactive and on-call technical assistance to operators, maintenance personnel, quality control, and other engineering teams. Most of it involves making sure that the process units are operating at their correct conditions to produce on-spec output safely and efficiently. The other part of my work is resolving process-related upsets or evaluating proposed projects or changes to normal operation.I specialize in oil refinery processes employing atmospheric crude distillation, mercaptan oxidation, naphtha hydrotreating (both straight run and cracked) and hydrogen purification using pressure swing adsorption. I have working knowledge of major refinery processes such as fluidized catalytic cracking, naphtha reforming, isomerate production, and sulfur recovery via the Claus process.My works have saved the company millions of pesos in operating costs and these range from troubleshooting heat exchanger fouling to interdepartment coordination in carrying out a trial run for a new refinery crude feedstock.
