C++/C# Development

Maintained a cross-platform (HP-UX, Linux and VxWorks) C/C++ application framework for SS7 monitoring, delivering to the expected timescales, cost and quality. This ultimately led to becoming the Technical Lead for the group.Led the development of an integrated SS7 monitoring solution, managing the relationship with the partner company (Alcatel), developing the core processing engine (C++) and co-ordinating the development, test and delivery of the end-to-end solution. The project was delivered on time securing multi-million pound deals with key US customers. Received an Agilent innovations award for my contribution to the project.As a certified SCRUM master, led the iterative development of a Business Intelligence solution (Teradata and Business Objects) facilitating the process and removing impediments to ensure that the cross-functional team delivered results on time to the expected levels of quality.Selected to join a project providing a network roaming solution (J2EE application), acting as lead developer and technical authority. Guided the development and taking ownership of issues to ensure that the solution is delivered on time, driving customer acceptance worth £1.5m.

Selected to work on a large scale software project, providing a network intelligence platform for telemarketing services. Successfully transitioned TeMIP, a network management platform, from MCI in the US. This involved working to demanding timescales and managing resources across three countries (UK, US and France). The role developed to leading the Network Management Infrastructure team, with an increased number of components and responsibility, ensuring that all components are developed and delivered to the expected timescales, cost and quality.

Promoted into a new unit and changed role from a systems support engineer to one of systems analysis. Supported the solution and delivery managers in analysing customer requirements, proposing and refining solutions and supporting the solutions through implementation into the field.

A key contributor providing support for a number of BT network management systems, developing strong UNIX (SunOS/Solaris) and Oracle database administration skills. Receiving a recognition award for successfully deploying a major customer support system to all of BT’s UK based service centres.

Contributed to the development, installation and maintenance of manufacturing process control systems.
