Manufacturing EngineerHtl Electro Kinetics Sep 1980 - May 1985RESPONSIBLE FOR MANUFACTURING INSTRUCTIONS AND TOOL DESIGN FOR ALL SHOP JOBS Initially employed as a tool and die lead, promoted to senior lead in 50 man production shop. Designed and built numerous specialized tools, jigs, fixtures and gages. Worked closely with Engineering on new products. DEBURRING SYSTEMS Designed and built a production machine to safely deburr stainless steel generator endbells. The unit reduced the deburring time from 1 hour to 10 minutes with superior cosmetics and enhanced operator safety. Designed and manufactured a miniature right angle fixture to deburr a .062 dia hole in a .312 dia bore .375 from the face of the part. This fixture saved many hours of rework of damaged parts caused by hand deburring. GRINDING AND POLISHING FIXTURE Designed and built a grinding and polishing fixture to rework a 45 conical end on a .062 dia poppet which required a 4 RMS finish or better. This tooling resulted in substantial savings.
