I have been working in the marine industry for fifteen years and have spent many of these years working abroad on a range of projects and in different cultures, in this time I have gained experience in the leisure, RNLI and military fields.For the past five years I have been working for a company building and developing fast patrol vessels with Kongsberg remote weapon stations and advance FLIR Surveillance systems.My role within this company is team leader for the engineering department and test pilot for the company’s prototype.My duties within this industry include:Shipbuilding, boat-building and repair – working on the design, development, construction and maintenance of ships, boats and machinery.Working in the leisure boat industry, manufacturing, maintaining or repairing a range of craft from yachts, powerboats to super yachts.Working in the defence industry, manufacturing, maintaining and repairing a range of craft and equipment.Installation and commissioning of Kongsberg weapon stations.Installation and commissioning of FLIR surveillance systems.Skills obtained within these areas include:Investigate and observe tests on vessels, machinery and equipment for compliance with standards.Conduct the operation of marine craft and equipment during acceptance testing and shakedown cruises.Inspect marine craft equipment and machinery for compliance to drawing specifications and standards.Prepare reports for use by engineering, management, or sales personnel.Oversee testing, installation, repair of marine craft, apparatus and equipment.Analyse data in order to determine cause of failed equipment and product improvements.
