Around 1998, I first got access to broadband. I spent as much time as I could crawling the web looking for things that interested me. I would save the interesting pages to my desktop so I could play around with the HTML code and images. I did not really know what I was doing at the time, nor did I have any objective in mind. However, just by playing around, I quickly picked up how the code fit together and I loved every minute of it.Developing traditional desktop software never interested me, so I always told myself I was not going to be a programmer. In 2011, while studying Business Informatics (BI), I was offered to work on a pilot project for a local company. What appeared to be a BI job at first, quickly became a development project. I did not have a programming background aside from what I picked up when I was young. I figured if I were going to build something, it would have to be web-based.Getting started on that project reignited my passion for the web. I taught myself everything I needed to know to get the job done. By the end of 2011 I had created a fully functional web app; a CMS with a rather unique twist. I am the type of person who is constantly looking for ways to improve my work and skills. So in 2012 I built a second version with an improved UI, more time-saving features and an immense performance boost. My client loved it.Whether it is building tools to help people get things done or websites to increase conversion, my ideal projects are the ones that have impact. Getting to use technology to make a difference is what gets me up in the morning.
