Managed a lab of five graduate students and multiple undergraduates providing leadership and guidance on research and supervised lab safety and chemical inventory protocols.Research focus: Studied and manipulated particle adhesion with the use of layer-by-layer surface sol-gel coatings. Coupled nanoscale coating technique and subsequent reaction processing to ensure shape-preservation during chemical transformations with pollen particles as a template. Worked on novel reaction processing and bio-enabled processing of advanced materials for electromagnetic, chemical, biomedical, and sensor applications. Developed low temperature (under 200°C) reaction process for creating nano-structures on Ti surfaces for improved cell growth for medical implants.
