About Bill Labiosa
Dr. Bill Labiosa serves as the Regional Science Coordinator for the USGS Northwest & Pacific Islands Regional Office. As Regional Science Coordinator, Bill develops and coordinates USGS strategic science efforts that support multi-partner management and recovery of major ecosystems, ecosystem services, and natural resources in the USGS Northwest Region; works closely with NW Regional science center directors, regional center scientists, and partners to develop strategic, interdisciplinary, collaborative science initiatives; and supports development and enhancement of partnerships with organizations key to the success of Department of the Interior and USGS science missions.Current efforts: *Co-leading the Puget Sound Federal Task Force (PSFTF) Science and Monitoring Work Group*Coordinating the USGS Priority Ecosystem Studies project for Puget Sound*Leading the Northwest and Pacific Islands Regional “USGS Puget Sound Leadership Team”*Leading partner engagement with the Puget Sound Coastal Storm Modeling System (PS-CoSMoS), a coastal flooding modeler and visualization system for coastal vulnerability and resilience assessments. Professional expertise in: environmental decision analysis, regional impacts of land use on coastal ecosystem services, Bayesian networks and influence diagrams in environmental modeling
