• Led the Mechanical team and oversaw design, assembly, integration, and testing project phases for the CubeSat while following all space-rated design specifications/guidelines• Designed structural components with Solidworks and created CAD drawings for manufacturing • Ran frequency and vibration simulations for the satellite structure on Solidworks and conducted random vibration tests of the CubeSat on a shaker table • Developed assembly and test procedures, reports, cost analyses, schedule spreadsheets, and other documentation• Worked with external suppliers to ensure project deliverables while keeping costs low• Planned and presented at outreach and educational events for the CubeSat to enhance scientific knowledge and interest in the communityThe Western University CubeSat Project, funded by the Canadian Space Agency, designed and built a satellite with Earth-imaging and VR capabilities. The CubeSat, named Ukpik-1, was launched into space on June 5, 2023 and was deployed from the International Space Station on July 6, 2023.
