Specializing in consulting and training on the analysis and assembly of bolted joints, with emphasis on the stream-lining of plant maintenance activities, gasket selection and achieving leak-free joint operation. The work involves the use of advanced engineering principles and analysis tools to solve design or operational problems in the most practical, cost-effective manner. These tools include advanced Finite Element Analysis methods, piping flexibility analysis, API 579 fitness for service analysis and code or first-principle engineering design. Typical problems include bolted joint leakage, local or general corrosion, creep failure, creep-crack failure, fatigue crack growth, brittle fracture assessment, environmentally assisted degradation and thermal stress degradation. Additional areas of expertise include the selection of equipment inspection methods and intervals and code calculations to confirm equipment suitability for service.
