Program Manager, ConsultantFord Motor Company Jun 2015 - Jul 2015Greater Detroit AreaContracted as Program Manager by Ford for the implementation of critical Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) Systems at their new F150 production facility. There were 4 separate systems with 25 AGVs to be simultaneously installed over a 1-week shutdown. The implementation was behind schedule and I was tasked with bringing the project back on track and completing the installation. I was contracted 2 weeks prior to the shutdown.This required an intense and extremely accelerated project schedule. The project team was mobilized, the design finalized, and AGVS were readied for production. Ford approved the design, and the programming of the system was completed prior to the shutdown.During the shutdown a plethora of facility repairs were scheduled that overlapped with the installation/testing of the new AGV system. This required intense schedule coordination to successfully complete both the facility work and the AGV systems on schedule.The conclusion was a successful implementation of multiple systems within a 3-week time period, which would normally have required 6+ months. -

During this period I reversed a $6 million mid-year budget deficit by $4 million before year-end, and closed the next two fiscal years $2+ million under budget each year. I implemented a new multi million-dollar inserting revenue steam for WSJ, reduced labor, and installed operational improvements resulting in millions of annual savings. -
M&A Integration, ConsultantNews Corp Sep 2007 - Mar 2011Greater New York City AreaAppointed as Program / Project Manager for News Corp's $5 billion acquisition & integration of Dow Jones.Project manager as part of the team directed to take the premier financial news organization and integrate them into a dynamic and expanding media conglomerate. As opportunities arose we adapted our plan and adjusted course to leverage the situations. In the end we met our objectives and finished on schedule and under budget.DJ Integration: Project manager for multiple cost savings programs from distribution to transitioning DJ from wholly owned sites to a national network of contract partners. This transition included closing 9 of 17 DJ plants and expanding the national network to 25 sites.National Color Expansion: ($ 150M)Project manager for national program to improve WSJ by doubling the amount of color pages in order to increase ad revenue. I developed the capital budget plan, inclusive of the DJ and all contract sites. To reduce costs a combination of new equipment and used equipment was utilized. The used equipment was completely upgraded and retrofit with state-of-the-art controls and servo motor technology. Additionally a few contract sites decided to do the upgrades themselves. The project completed under the budget and on schedule. WSJ & NY Post Color Expansion: ($30M)Project manager to consolidate the WSJ & NYP operations for NYC. WSJ’s NY operations were closed down and relocated to the state-of-the-art NY Post facility, which I had previously helped commission. This created a new flagship operation for WSJ and the NY Post. I managed the $30 million project for equipment upgrades to facilitate the combining of both operations, conversion of the WSJ presses to 100% color, and introduced a multi million-dollar inserting revenue stream for the WSJ. This was the culmination of a very rewarding and successful project. -
