I have worked in the construction industry both practically and as a health and safety adviser for a number of years. I am currently working as a CDM Co-ordinator but also provide fire risk advice and work as a safety adviser. I believe strongly that the only way to achieve successful safety standards is through encouraging cultural change and empowering those affected by health and safety to manage their own risks. I have a proven track record of implementing change with large developers as well as retail and hospitality clients. My main area of work is providing the role of CDM Co-ordinator and advising on the management of construction projects and the various relevant health and safety legislation. I have acted as CDM Co-ordinator on a number of projects ranging from a 45 story residential tower in London to refurbishment of listed hotels and enjoy the range of challenges that these project provide me with.I have been involved in updating policy as well as auditing management systems. I enjoy working with companies to identify areas of non-compliance and find both practical and effective ways of managing the risk. I am also a fire risk assessor with a NEBOSH certificate in fire safety and 5 years’ experience.I also have a diploma in environmental management and provide advice on policy as well as reviewing company’s procedures to ensure compliance both with best practice and legislation.Risk Wise Consulting is my own business. We aim to provide good quality, pragmatic, fire, health and safety and environmental advice and training.
