Currently I am working as a Nuclear Security Guard for Entergy at Arkansas Nuclear One. I transferred from Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant in New York where I worked as a NSG with Entergy for 15 years. I am a dedicated, self motivated worker. I am always looking to learn more to make sure I can do as much as possible. I need little to no supervision while completing daily tasks. My duties at work include, but are not limited to, controlling entry processing of all individuals that entered protected and vital areas of the nuclear plant bay by verifying identify and authorization, as well as conducting personnel and vehicle searches that are required in accordance with plant security regulations. I am responsible for responding to intrusion alarms as directed by the response team leader or when patrolling the perimeter. I am also responsible for deterring attempts by unauthorized persons seeking to gain entry into protected and vital areas of the plant. As a security officer I am to report all observed security or safety violations, secure, protect and assist at accidents, fires and similar areas of mishap until relieved. I also perform armed escorts for persons or vehicles as required. I conduct operational tests of intrusion detection and contraband detection equipment according to documented procedures. I am also qualified to be in the badge office, making security clearance badges for employees and visitors. I have experience with radio dispatch and closed circuit security camera surveillance. Because I had worked at Indian Point for so long, I was one of the officers that management trusted to show new hires the proper procedures and protocol to follow. Before working at Indian Point, I worked in retail. I am personable and have great customer service skills. I am proficient in Microsoft Office and am computer savvy.
