Conduct Obstacle and Airspace Evaluations for Aviation, Energy, and Real Estate clients.

Commander of the only Command Aviation Company in the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, consisting of 35 personnel, eight UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopters, and equipment totaling over $80 million. Primary company tasks include Aerial Command and Control, Air Assault, and VIP flights. Assumed command of this company while deployed to Europe, where we simultaneously conducted multiple cross border, high visibility missions in support of US interests and NATO allies. Countries of responsibility included Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. Through the deployment and on return to the US, improved property accountability system within the company, resolving $270,000 worth of outstanding issues.

Staff officer charged with planning and executing operations. Primary responsibilities included writing and publishing mission orders and managing the battalion’s defense travel system (DTS). Processed travel orders and funding for over 300 personnel, totaling over $200,000 in travel claims. Identified a personnel shortfall within the battalion to expeditiously complete DTS claims, then coordinated and oversaw the training of personnel to quadruple the battalion’s processing capacity, leading to our battalion becoming the top performer in processing and clearing the backlog of claims.

Distinguished graduate from the Aviation Captain’s Career Course, a course junior to mid-grade captains attend to prepare for command and improve their skills for staff work. Observations, Insights, and Lessons Learned article written in this class selected for publication in Aviation Digest, the professional journal of US Army Aviation.

Officer in Charge of current operations, charged with overseeing the day to day operation of the battalion, tracking ongoing operations, and resourcing and responding to crisis. Selected as the advance party officer in charge when the brigade established operations in Poland and the Baltics to counter Russian aggression. In July 2015, assumed responsibility as the Operations Officer during the deactivation of the battalion, ensuring personnel and equipment were properly reassigned to follow on units.

Led one of two platoons in an assault helicopter company consisting of 18 Soldiers, five UH-60 Blackhawks, and equipment totaling over $40 million. Oversaw the training of Soldiers. Planned multiple complex missions within Germany and cross border to support NATO training.

Managed the quarterly training brief for the battalion, establishing training priorities and resourcing for the following quarter. Prepared products for the biannual aviation resource management survey and evaluation. Battle Captain during a multinational field training exercise, where I was responsible for tracking all missions and resources, and reallocating as necessary to ensure mission success.

Alpha Company, 1-228th Aviation Regiment, Soto Cano Air Base, HondurasLed one of two platoons in a general support aviation company, consisting of 18 Soldiers and five aircraft. Planned cross border humanitarian assistance missions to Nicaragua and Panama. Trained crews for counter-narcotics missions in Central America in partnership with Host nations and US Drug Enforcement Agency.

Responsible for gathering and compiling data, daily mission and resource tracking, meetings and memo preparation. Battalion liaison officer to the joint operations center, responsible for coordination and communication during missions and emergencies. Culminated as the Air Mission Commander for week long counter-narcotics training in Guatemala, integrating US DEA, Guatemalan Judiciary and Special Forces, and US helicopters.

Honor graduate from basic officer training and aviation training to become a United States Army Aviation qualified officer. Qualified in the TH-67 and UH-60 helicopters. Completed additional requirements to receive a commercial rotary wing license.

Responsible for recruiting and training ROTC cadets to be future US Army Officers.

Tutor for Intermediate Microeconomics course at Claremont McKenna College. Conducted weekly office hours to help students with weekly problem sets and exam preparation, as well as additional one-on-one instruction.

Summer intern at the Army Wounded Warrior Program. Largest project consisted of compiling issues from the Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) conferences, combining similar issues into consolidated recommendations for the General Officer Steering Committee. Most memorable issue was the ability for Soldiers to transfer their GI Bill benefits to their family after injuries during the War on Terror. This issue ultimately was incorporated into the Post 9/11 GI Bill passed in 2008.
