Day to Day Functions:1) Review of daily banking accounts and preparation of daily banking reports for senior management.2) Review of primary bookkeeping functions carried out by the team to ensure consistent and accurate processing.Monthly Functions:1) Preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations, including debtors, creditors, bank, VAT, inter-company loan accounts and intercompany invoicing.2) Preparation of standard monthly journal entries, including depreciation, salaries, accrual/prepayments, bad debt provision etc.3) Monthly review of Trial balances, Debit order reports.4) Maintaining the Fixed Asset register (When an asset is purchased).5) Analysed overheads at group level to ensure for consistency and also provided feedback where significant increases incurred that were not in line with expectation.6) Provided feedback on cash flow decreases that was not in line in expectation and also assisted in planning for expenditure outside of normal trading.7) Assisted with analysing sale trends both in South Africa and outside to assist with cash flow projections.8) Provided commentary on BAD Debts with the impact on the Management Accounts at Group Level profits/losses.Financial and Statutory Reporting:1) Responsible for the preparation of accurate management accounts for senior management with comments.2) Assistance with preparation of year-end audit files and liaising with auditors to ensure that audited Annual Financial Statements including consolidations are completed within predetermined deadlines to ensure no over runs occur.3) Preparation and submission of monthly PAYE, VAT and assistance with yearly Taxation returns to SARS.4) Preparation and submission on any other statutory returns that might need to be submitted by the company.
