A global company focused on software solutions for the public sector, the Newcastle office produces business management software solutions for Local Government in Australia and New Zealand.The project development team is continually embracing Agile techniques, in an attempt to improve internal processes, efficiency and code quality, as well as raising the visibility and transparency of the team's role within the business.I am responsible for the development and maintenance of new features on the primary web-based product, for internal and customer contracts. A complex code base and close dependencies of software features means collaboration with other developers and business analysts when designing and implementing new features. A small independent software company, the development team worked closely with customers to improve existing features and extend functionality of a financial services product aimed at the 3rd party mortgage market. A community-oriented project for the Quigley Collective located on the western side of Lake Macquarie.I assisted in the analysis and design of an online query database system, to collect and process information on personal skills and qualifications present in Booragul/Bolton Point community members. This was part of attempts to address unemployment and disadvantage in local communities, with the aim of using data to enhance relationships and encouraging community members to share the skills with each other.The project was put on hold before prototyping and development, due to a lack of funding.
