Worked expressly with the City’s Infrastructure and Public Services Department, housing many of the City’s most important assets. This position had recently been created and needed a well rounded individual to provide the numerous arms of this department with graphics, so I stepped in. While with the City I was able to display a vast array of talents, we designed logos, created presentations, laid out annual reports, directed informative videos and even created animations. As the lone graphic designer within our particular department, I was able to implement several ideas to make the position more user friendly. We developed a stock photo library of City assets and employees for use in future documents and templates of our most commonly used dimensions and illustrated graphics that will be with the City for years. I was even able to help design the wayfinding system for the downtown City streets, so the citizens and visitor could find their way around. Our most important document was left to me, our Annual Report provided the citizens with what they were being served with their hard earned tax dollars. This position required a lot from the person who held it, but it gave a lot back in return. For that I hope I was able to leave my impression on it as well.

Managed a design team that provided the artwork for our clients, sending and editing proofs as needed and preparing the art files for print. Our production team manufactured the client’s chosen artwork from a blank canvas to a finished piece. The installation team ensured that everyone’s prior hard work had not gone to waste, making sure the client’s ultimate reaction was a quality one. In the background, I would source the materials from multiple suppliers, while forecasting for any irregular events. Training new employees with a larger scope of skills; CNC machines, Adobe Suite, large format printer. How to work these machines and repair them when needed. Scheduling our installations and working with a client to see their vision finished. Working in a shop this size we helped many people start a dream and larger businesses maintain and grow. From the rural high school to Mercedes-Benz and the University of Alabama, our clients were many and we positioned ourselves to always strive for what they needed.

Helped to manage a small shop of employees that provided a multitude of services. From inception to installation we were able to handle clients of many size from the mothers needing birthday supplies to Auburn University’s requests for wayfinding materials and 3 story murals, all while staying within strict branding guidelines when essential. I personally would see to guiding a client’s vision into reality from the first phone call or email through design and production to the installation if it was needed. We were able to provide many businesses with advertising material that was eye catching and effective.
