Profile bio

About William Deweese

Currently retired, I'm seeking new challenges in the police/law enforcement field, from patrol to training to research. I have a well-rounded skill set that can assist your agency or training unit in delivering high-quality service to your community with professionalism, tact, integrity and accountability. My strengths are in field policing and training development. My primary interests are in interviewing and interrogation, the improvement of human factors, namely psychomotor and cognitive skills in officers confronting critical incidents, error reduction and officer resource management. I've worked extensively in developing use of force training, firearms training programs, and working with challenged shooters. I've also developed experience in operational risk management and training in intelligence and threat analysis. Additional training focus areas include interviewing and interrogation, statement analysis, active killer response and tactics for patrol officers.I have a solid academic background in qualitative and quantitative research methods and can contribute to your intelligence and assessment program by developing statistically rigorous evidence and intelligence based practices. This was valuable when I was tasked with essentially handling all of the elements required for meeting federal accreditation standards for a training program, myself. I can rapidly adapt to fluid, dynamic high-pressure situations.I possess a valid passport and can work in CONUS/OCONUS.However, I enjoy nothing more than taking a cruiser out, answering calls and working with the public. I'm a firm believer that patrol is the backbone of effective policing, and frankly look forward to any opportunity to get back onto the street, road, highway or hallway. References are available upon request. Thank you for your consideration and time in reviewing my history.

Listed skills include Public Safety, Criminal Justice, Police, Enforcement, and 46 others.
