I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, with over six years of experience in linguistics, data science, and predictive analytics. My current work is primarily focused on using data science techniques to study sociolinguistic phenomena in multilingual settings. Alongside my professorial duties, I am currently part of a team at the National University of Singapore, where I serve as a Researcher and Data Analyst for the Corpus of Singapore English Messaging Team headed by Professor Mie Hiramoto. My responsibilities include utilizing advanced analytics to examine sociolinguistic issues within the Singapore context, implementing big-data analytical tools, creating and maintaining models, and incorporating new data sets. My team and I have had several articles published in international journals.Previously, I held the roles of Linguist Analyst, Researcher, and Instructor at the University of Michigan, where I collaborated with two cross-functional teams - Contact, Cognition, and Language Evolution Lab and the Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation. My work there involved using Natural Language Processing techniques to examine the relationship between language and society and developing unique programs to assist people in their research and professional pursuits.
