Also worked on the following tasks/projects:· Identified opportunities to strengthen the network monitoring and management practice.· Created and successfully tested several Cisco config element templates including logging, SNMP, and Netflow v9.· Began the process of creating a CMDB for the network team by compiling a master inventory list. Loaded that list and data from a pair of management systems into a MySQL database to establish relationships for the purpose of ensuring all active systems were being managed/monitored.· Created a python script to validate the inventory data. The script pulled nodes from the DB and ran a series of 3 tests first pinging a node, then testing a set of SNMP strings, and finally pulling sysName and serial number if possible. Once finished, it wrote the test results back to the database for correlation with the existing data.· Used REST api calls to pull data from one of the management systems (the only way it was available) and did some proof of concept work to validate we could modify both management systems via REST to bring them in alignment with the inventory once it had been validated and deemed "complete". -
