President - Kennecott LandRio Tinto Jul 2007 - Mar 2012Joined Kennecott Land to oversee the development of Daybreak, a 4,100 acre community approved for 20,000 units and 13,800,000 square feet of commercial development, located in South Jordan Utah, and entitlement and future development of the company's 96,000 acres of undeveloped land in the Salt Lake City valley.Daybreak was named the Best Smart Growth Community and Community of the Year at the Best of America Living Awards sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders in 2011. Daybreak has light rail to the community as a result of working with the Transit authority and municipalities on the line.Major road improvements have been funded by the state, with the community only providing right of way.Daybreak has been the top selling community in the region and has enjoyed a market share above 15%.Commercial elements include a 208,000 square foot medical facility operated by the University of Utah, an E-Bay data Center and several Rio Tinto facilities. Tax increment has been pledged to reimburse for infrastructure costs.The copper mine life has been extended to 2028, and the desire for development of much of the land has disappeared as a consequence. Current corporate efforts are focused on further extending the mine life and completing the development of Daybreak.

President Southeast RegionNewland Communities Oct 1995 - Jun 2007Opened a southeastern office for Genstar Land Development and grew the operation by acquiring and developing communities in Atlanta, and Tampa including FishHawk Ranch, a 5,000 acre community which was the top selling community in the marketplace for all but the first two years of sales. The entire firm was purchased by Newland and I carried on in an expanded leadership role and continued to grow the operation adding communities, such as Bexley, and Waterset in the Tampa, Atlanta, Chapel Hill NC, and Orlando markets and merged the two corporate cultures into a strong cohesive team. I continued to grow the team by adding the Terrabrook operations in the South East.
