Time has gone full circle.At The Wave Project we use surf therapy to help enable children and young people to build confidence and overcome anxiety barriers through surfing.The (very big) bit in the middle:I built my HR career in London (mostly) working in HR, recruitment, training and exec search. I’ve managed teams, in-house functions, bought (and sold) businesses. I’ve worked agency and client side and worked with (and for) the best people in the game today. For the last 3 years or so i've been concentrating at exec level on Director, MD and CXO roles in BT Corporate Functions and BT Security. I also had Senior HR Manager responsibility focusing on troubleshooting stuff that didn’t work and fixing it!I’ve been a champion of diversity in the workplace (long before it was a thing with a title) from working with the late great Jamaican journo Val McCalla as far back as the late 90s to diversify Barclays' above the line talent pool. To lifting/shifting Vodafone's assessments, from sterile corporate surroundings, to the heart of the communities they were seeking to recruit from.Absolutely loved my time in that great city and would recommend a spell in London to anyone thinking of making the leap. But for now, I’m off to the beach for some back to the future 🌊
