I am an Emergency Management Analyst at the City of Raleigh Municipal Government, where I support the coordination and implementation of emergency management programs and activities for the city. I have nearly four years of experience as an Emergency Management Planner at On Target Preparedness, where I provided public health preparedness coordination and exercise planning across central and eastern North Carolina. I hold FEMA's Advanced Professional Series (APS) and Professional Development Series (PDS) certificates, and I am a commissioned Notary Public in North Carolina.I also have a strong background in meteorology and hazard communication, with a M.A. Geography focused in Climatology from Arizona State University. I worked as a meteorologist and a public information officer for the U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) and the Tucson Fire Department, respectively, for a combined 12 years. I have expertise in severe weather warning issuance and forecast delivery, social media content and account management, program promotion, and website content editing and upkeep. I have led and contributed to multiple specialized programs and media platforms, and have published a research article in the International Journal of Climatology. I am always eager to learn new skills and apply my knowledge and creativity to improve the information and communication services for the public and the partners. My passions also include enhancing the resilience and readiness of communities and organizations in the face of disasters and emergencies.
