Manufacturing engineer for the Flock Falcon V2 Camera. Support contract manufacturing in a startup environment. Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and improve manufacturing processes to increase manufacturing quality and output. Responsible for manufacture of IOT device including manual PCB assembly, camera assembly, and testing. -Supported our contract manufacturer (CM), solving production problems and increasing uptime.-Improved manufacturing processes for earlier defect detection leading to an increase of 45% in average daily output (finished cameras built) and an increase of 35% for most cameras built in one day. -Developed software for new manufacturing tests, improved existing software for ease of use and to fix bugs.-Wrote work and troubleshooting instructions for the CM, reviewed and approved their work instructions for our product.-Coordinated with various groups within the CM and Flock as issues arose. These included software engineering, NPD engineering, outside consultants, operators, manufacturing leads, supervisors, and production and plant managers.

Product development for the fluidics subsystem of the Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine. Created solutions to issues with the current product, investigated cause of reliability and quality issues, designed and built test stands for these investigations. -Designed and built test stand to evaluate heat exchanger manifold assemblies using pressure drop. The stand is now used in end-of-line testing by the supplier to ensure quality standards are met. -Created a procedure to evaluate the sanitation process for field replacement Flow Control Modules. This process reduced the amount of sanitizer needed from approximately 7 L to 1 L per module. -Coordinated with supplier to implement evaluation procedure and validate their sanitation process. -Ideated and tested new methods to mix micro ingredients in the dispenser. -Implemented new tests to evaluate ingredient mixing, including image subtraction and using accelerometers to find resonant frequencies. This saved time by not relying on lab results which have a significant lead time. -Evaluated Flow Control Module components which had been returned from the field, sending good components back to the supplier. Documented defects, using microscope to photograph surface wear and sharing with supplier. -Specified and evaluated an agitation test stand with an outside supplier.

-Implemented connected solutions including Cimcon wireless control.-Created test plans to ensure compliance with NEMA, UL, DLC, and ROHS.-Evaluated engineering samples, worked with suppliers to adjust their processes when parts did not meet requirements. -Quality control for tools worth hundreds of thousands of dollars each. -Prepared test fixtures for vibration (NEMA), water ingress (NEMA IPXX), and thermal (UL) validation.

I packaged beer, troubleshot machine issues, and maintained equipment. I made canning line improvements which eliminated waste, increased safety, and reduced cost.

Developed numerical model to simulate city water supply. Developed corresponding model to simulate water demand using agent-based modeling approach. Worked with city engineer and rural water district managers to use the city of Ada as a test case. Presented results to a group of researchers, the city engineer, and members of the Ada water resources board. The models are being developed further by the EPA as a tool for city planners.

Worked in the 9.3 liter diesel engine new product development team at the engine system level. Studied component failures that resulted in costly warranty replacements. Worked with component engineers on analysis of parts. Performed an FEA analysis on a new model of flywheel. Worked with job owners, part-level designers to resolve the group’s “virtual” engine issues. Helped to streamline the design teams response to these virtual engine issues. Provided clean bills of materials for Tier 4 Interim engines by eliminating pending engineering changes that were not carried out. Followed five Tier 4 Final prototype engine builds in the assembly plant, working with logistics and process engineers. Noted engineering issues found during assembly.
