I have been extremely fortunate to have worked in the fields of healthcare, finance, and information technology during my career. My diverse background includes working as a IT Network Administrator, Systems Support Analyst, Licensed Respiratory Therapist, and Financial Systems Analyst. As an IT Manager and independent consultant, I’ve won the loyalty of clients with my passion for customer service, clear communications, and my high degree of competence. My specialties include: administration of computer networks, computer help desk management, and providing end-user training. Non-technical users have really appreciated getting help from someone who can communicate IT issues without feeling intimidated. Further, I’m adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and completing them efficiently and on schedule. While working in healthcare, I was serving as Director of Clinical Respiratory Programs when they discovered that I was technically adept. They gave me IT tasks and soon promoted me to the Director of IT Department—on top of my other responsibilities of managing Respiratory Therapy. The staff was highly impressed with the ready access to IT services, our responsiveness, and with the effectiveness of our support. While serving as a network administrator, I prevented extensive down time and quickly restored service after crashes. I also provided software user training and served as IT support for clinical and administrative staff. I also set up hardware infrastructure for our affiliated physicians, allowing them to easily and reliably connect remotely to view diagnostic test data. As an independent consultant, I took the skills I had developed and built a private practice servicing individuals with home businesses or who worked at home. I very quickly built a base of loyal clients who greatly appreciated the services I provide: general desktop support, home networking, setting up mobile devices. People rely on me to troubleshoot their issues quickly, perform preventative maintenance on their systems, and ensure their systems function optimally.
