About William (Billy) Barnes

I am a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law (JD, 2011). I articled at the Ministry of the Attorney General's criminal appeals office. I am particularly interested in the law's response to fast-paced changes in technology.Before beginning my legal career, I worked primarily as a computer programmer, creating practice management software for small law firms. In my spare time, I continue to develop my web application Statutes.ca. This application automatically retrieves and cross-references current statutes and case law. The user is able to make annotations and access their notes from any device.
