Provided leadership and direct support for as many as six Operations’ departments at a privately-held, Swiss-owned manufacturer of precision connectors and custom cable assemblies. Developed in-house manufacturing capability and a subcontract sourcing strategy for cable assembly production.► Strategic role in overall revenue growth of 244% in 6-years while maintaining a fixed headcount in key departments, such as material control, IT, customer service, accounting and administration.► Generated $13M/year incremental revenue by spearheading the in-house manufacture of custom, overmolded cable assemblies for military, medical, and broadcast applications.► Improved quality to better than 4-sigma for a custom designed, low-volume, high-mix product line. ► Realized cost reductions of up to 64% through the strategic sourcing of subcontracted assemblies and components. ► Designed and implemented widely accepted tools and applications to automate manually intensive operations such as actual labor time capture, sales quotations, process monitoring, security, time and attendance.► Managed the US implementation of SAP with direct responsibility for data migration from the legacy system.

Directed the full range of operations’ activities for Hitachi’s optical networking equipment and services division. Accountable for supporting a cross-country fiber-optic network deployment for the most significant product launch in the company’s history. ► Directed a $75M optical networking equipment project, regularly interfaced with customers and Hitachi corporate leadership on the status of production, installation and testing as the system was commissioned throughout the US.► Provided leadership over a number of key departments, including program management, sales administration, quality assurance, manufacturing & test engineering, engineering services and documentation & training.► Improved project cost reporting and control by developing, improving and deploying cross-functional project management processes and driving accountability for expenses and activities charged to the project.

Elastic Networks was a spin-off of Nortel Networks focused on the development, manufacture and marketing of broadband access equipment. Developed the strategy for and managed a fast-paced manufacturing subcontracting program for this rapidly growing telecom start-up throughout an IPO offering. ► Supported revenue growth from $8M to $39M in one year by successfully managing the Sales and Operations Planning process in support of aggressive growth in customer demand. ► Achieved 2.5X cost reductions on a high-volume product while fully-supporting three new releases inside of one year.► Negotiated and managed electronic manufacturing agreements with top-tier, high-tech manufacturers.

● DEESIDE, UNITED KINGDOM, 1999 - 2000 (Expatriate Assignment)●Overall accountability for the successful transfer of a sophisticated technology from product development in Denmark to full-scale production in the United Kingdom. Designed a production facility for the manufacture of specialized surgical kits.► Contracted the manufacture of and implemented customized automated assembly processes in a clean room environment, introduced several competencies to a production facility where similar products or processes did not exist.► Directed the qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ) of all equipment to ensure a safe, repeatable and efficient production process.► Led a newly formed team through the mitigation of several major, multi-national project jeopardies to complete the project on-time and within budget.● LARGO, FLORIDA, 1997 – 1999 ●Designed and managed a development and manufacturing facility for a series of bio-tech medical devices which automate the prepation of an autologous fibrin sealant based on thrombin and fibrinogen. ► Managed a complete facility realization including site selection, plant/process layout, construction, equipment/furniture selection, data/voice systems, service/support contracts and permits/licenses. The project was complete within 3-months.► Directed all aspects of a high-tech R&D and manufacturing facility with an annual operating budget of $3M.► Championed a successful ISO-9001 registration within the first 6-months of operation.

Successfully managed complex project schedules supporting the construction of an 8,500 mile undersea fiber-optic multi-ring network, connecting 9 countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region. ► Realized savings in excess of $11M as a key member of a ‘tiger team’ charged with recovering a critical fiber-optic network project schedule ranging from research and development to deployment to customer training and documentation. ► Negotiated solutions, upscopes and contract amendments on a $500M project with corporate telecom leaders from nine countries including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.► Traveled extensively throughout Asia to review project status, troubleshoot issues and present technical solutions for the customers’ review at International Contract Coordination Meetings.
