Completed projects:- Restructured daily hospital-wide multidisciplinary escalation huddle to reduce clinical staff time away from patient care and optimize discussion. After 3 months of PDSA cycles, meeting time cut by 10 minutes and >90% of all escalations raised were reported actionable.- Trained 150+ staff on a new EMR tool and its integration into rounding processes. - Facilitated weekly steering committee meetings with hospital executives and clinician leaders to execute Jefferson Enterprise Length of Stay reduction initiatives playbook. - Implemented in-person multidisciplinary discharge rounding on a multi-service unit. - Provided 3-4x weekly coaching for frontline staff during discharge planning rounds. - Tracked performance metrics in internal medicine (sepsis), anesthesia, and behavioral health. Ongoing:- Facilitate interdisciplinary working group to create clinical pathways for ambulatory and emergency surgical spine procedures.- Manage database and conduct analyses on restraint use in behavioral health units, track documentation compliance.- Program Manager of the Resilience in Stressful Events (RISE) peer support program that provides psychological first aid to staff who have experienced a distressing workplace event. Execute volunteer recruitment and onboarding, publicity, hotline use metrics, scheduling, and biweekly meetings with RISE managers across enterprise locations.

Coordination of NIH-funded mixed-methods study of experiences of autistic teens and their families with driving and transportation. Activities include: track and report recruitment rates, screen and enroll participants, operate longitudinal REDCap database and REDCap project building, train and coordinate undergraduate research assistants, code over 50 interview transcripts in NVivo, lead interview coding consensus meetings with secondary coders, thematic analysis of qualitative data, draft and prepare manuscripts.

Coordinate and operate Penn Medicine COVID-19 vaccine clinics in west and southwest Philadelphia neighborhoods (schools, churches, community events, commercial and sporting events) to address racial inequity in COVID outcomes and vaccine distribution. Design clinic process documents, train and lead volunteers, monitor process adherence, and conduct community outreach including flyering, canvassing, town halls, and social media.

Primary assignment to Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP), a national QI program for delirium and falls prevention in hospitalized older adults. Design provider e-learning modules and patient education materials, promote through social media and web communications, conduct monthly literature reviews. Additional assignments to 1) Network for Investigation of Delirium: Unifying Scientists (NIDUS), a national collaboration of delirium researchers, including conference planning and web design and maintenance, and 2) Creation of the Delirium Change Package and Toolkit in the Emergency Department (“ED-DEL”) for implementing a delirium prevention program in emergency department settings using the Institute for Healthcare Innovation Breakthrough Series and Model for Improvement frameworks.

Conduct systematic reviews of new pharmaceuticals in the FDA pipeline, including literature search and screening, data abstraction, and meta-analyses (Stata). Project assignments included: 11 abuse-deterrent opioid formulations; crisaborole (Eucrisa) and dupilumab (Dupixent) for atopic dermatitis; 11 treatments for rheumatoid arthritis; 15 injectable, oral, and infused agents for the treatment of multiple sclerosis; and acupuncture, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, yoga, and tai chi for management of chronic low back and neck pain.

Organize and host conferences with pharmaceutical and payer executives to present and discuss value-based pricing recommendations.

Interview prospective students, write reports for applicant files, and conduct group applicant and family information sessions.
