GB Foam is an independent converter of polyurethane foam based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Clients include Aston Martin, BBC, Boeing, Bupa, Ferrari, McDonald's, Ministry of Defence and the NHS to name just a few.With over a decade of web design and marketing under my belt, I joined GB Foam as their marketing director. My main goal was to increase brand awareness with a major boost to sales through the help of organic traffic and social media presence. Company brand guidelines were put in place to standardise the way in which the public perceived all aspects of GB Foam in print, web and video. A full website redesign began with SEO in mind.Organic traffic had increased by 1,784.73% within the first 2 years on the new GB Foam Direct website alone. Similar increases were seen across all of the GB Foam subsidiary websites. With a better designed user-friendly website, sales conversion rates also increased by 448.84%. Meanwhile, the B2B side of the business saw huge increases in phone calls and sales worldwide.With the introduction of a new Foam Pits website, the company is now reaching as far as the Middle East for the sale of gym pit foam which was originally only sold in the UK. This expansion has opened up a lot of doors for GB Foam and services are now being promoted in 19 languages.Being around for over 40 years, GB Foam had a great customer base and a fantastic level of trust. With the introduction of software to upsell and cross-sell products the overall sales order value was increased on every transaction. Incentives were also put in place to increase return customers and help loyal customers become brand ambassadors.With social media exhibiting an ever-increasing level of importance for any business, I felt it necessary to direct more marketing attention to this. I gave planning and leadership to the Marketing Department to help significantly increase levels of user engagement, followers and boost brand awareness worldwide.
