I build pages that will get organic traffic by analyzing data with the tools I’ve built. I monitor SERPS and pull data to maintain content to ensure webpages adapt to machine learning and competitor changes.I do keyword research differently than most SEOs. I pull data and look for weaknesses in the math and examine the SERP’s for opportunities. Where do I get my SEO knowledge from? I don’t rely upon the SEO community as a majority of SEOs do. My approach to learning is continuous research (patents, technical papers), observation & most importantly testing. I follow information retrieval and data science communities so I can identify how things may change in SEO. Observing changes across multiple websites is essential. When I setup a test and get results it's some evidence. Not strong evidence. Doing a test and repeating it in the inverse and testing again gives me much stronger evidence. It’s the same with seeing patterns and making changes across multiple websites. This is why I work on a consulting basis. The in-house SEO manager has to rely upon the SEO community for how search is working. I was very fortunate to surround myself with the right people at the very beginning of my career and knew how to get results very early on.
